About the Event
Who can participate?
Everyone is welcome—people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. This is a non-political, non-partisan event focused on bringing neighbors together.
What should I bring?
Comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, water bottles, and a spirit of curiosity and openness. We’ll provide name tags, markers, and materials for peace-themed activities.
Can I bring children?
Absolutely! We encourage families to attend. For young children, we recommend a stroller or wagon, as most of the route runs alongside a busy roadway.
Will roads be closed for the event?
- No, roads will remain open. Our goal is to be visible to the community as a peaceful presence while walking safely along the route. Safety volunteers will help guide participants and crossings.
What if it rains?
If the weather doesn’t cooperate on November 2, we’ll hold the walk on our rain date, Sunday, November 16.
How can I help?
We’re looking for volunteers, supply donations, and local organizations to partner with us. If you’d like to help, please contact peace@wisccommunity.org.
Do I need to register or pay anything?
Nope! The Walk for Peace is completely free and open to everyone—just show up and join us.
Are pets allowed on the walk?
Friendly, leashed pets are welcome. We ask you to use your best judgement.
Will there be bathrooms available?
At the start of the walk, there will be a limited amount of port-a-potties. At the end, you may use the restroom facilities at the Cedar Park Public Library.
Will there be a place to sit and rest before or after the walk?
Before the walk, there will be very limited seating. After the walk, there are ample places to sit at picnic tables and benches at the Cedar Park Public Library.
